Lucky for the mass of Apple enthusiasts out there, we don’t have to speculate too much about the release date of the new generation iPhone. Apple has kept quite a strict schedule when it comes to releasing the new iPhone. They usually release once a year and in previous years, it’s been in September, which is why it is rumoured the iPhone 7 will be released this September. This means that the iPhone 8 could land on our doorstep as soon as September 2017!
When it comes to estimating the price of a new iPhone many things should be considered. Mainly, the price increase should correspond to the increase of certain specs & features. This being said, with the specs & features we expect to be integrated into the iPhone 8, you can expect prices to range from $800 to $1100. We think this is quite reasonable when you consider the technological advancements that would be present in the iPhone 8.
What can you expect for your $800-$1100? Well, we think there are going to be some pretty sizeable changes in the specs of the iPhone 8. Personally, I am praying for longer battery life. Apple has been lacking behind its Android competitors in this department and we think the iPhone 8 will be where we see the real advancements. Judging from current rumours, what specification increases can we expect?
This is what we all want to know. What will my new iPhone be able to do? And, specifically, what can it do that no other phone can?
Well, here comes the exciting part. Although this is mainly just speculation, Apple have recently had some patents approved for developing the software needed to make our iPhone dreams come true. Take a look at some exciting features we believe could be unveiled in the iPhone 8:
OLED screen technology
Waterproofing (with self-healing ports)
Multi-touch 3D Touch
Eye retina scanning
Wet finger support
Dual-lens camera with optical zoom
Some of these features may seem far-fetched and too far in the Sci-fi category for some but we are holding out hope these features will make it to the iPhone 8 and who better to accomplish the far-fetched and imaginative, than Apple?
Last, but by no means least, what is our new iPhone going to look like?
Apple kept the design almost identical for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6s, therefore we feel there will be a dramatic redesign for the iPhone 8. We are almost certain there will be a larger screen, up to 6”, but we think Apple will limit the increase to the size of the phone. They could do this if they were to stretch the screen so it covered the face of the phone entirely. Also, rumour has it that the home button could be removed and redesigned. Without the need for extra space at the bottom of the phone for the Home button, the larger screen size could be accommodated without needing to increase the size of the phone itself.
Some other changes suggested are the removal of the headphone jack, to allow for a thinner model. Nevertheless, we trust Apple will continue with its trademark look that its loyal customers know and love; sleek, modern, stylish and contemporary.
So here are the main specs and features to be expected of the iPhone 8. For more detail, take a look at our specific pages and articles and don’t forget to check back to receive the all the latest updates.
